Our Approach

Leading with Humanity

“In order to lead humans, you have to know humans.” – Jessica May

That simple truth guides everything we do. Our approach isn’t built on programs or prescriptions—it’s grounded in people. Humanistic leadership begins with self-awareness, empathy, and the willingness to lead through genuine relationship.

It is a paradigm shift away from compliance-driven mandates and toward a culture where leadership is shared across administrators, teachers, staff, and students.

By focusing on authenticity, courage, and human connection, leaders build commitment that no policy alone can create.

The Five Levers of Humanistic Leadership

Our work is rooted in humanistic leadership, the conviction that being authentic, putting the organization’s mission above personal gain, and developing and sharing leadership create a movement that sustains change across the entire system.

OUR MODEL INCLUDES FIVE LEVERS:

Each of these levers are attributes of Humanistic Leaders that they can pull on in different situations. Developing these levers will help you infuse humanism into whatever leadership style you currently utilize and take your current leadership style to the next level.

Shared leadership

Shared leadership grows when leaders invite others to lead, build collaboration, and strengthen each person’s confidence and capacity to contribute.

Flexibility

Leaders who practice flexibility adjust to challenges, support team needs, and respond to conflict with empathy and clear thinking.

These practices shape every keynote, training, and coaching session we offer.

Why This Approach Matters

Learning organizations face real human challenges: disengagement, disconnection, and resistance to change. Humanistic leadership addresses these realities by:

Providing leaders with greater support through shared decision-making and collective responsibility.

When leadership is humanistic and distributed across the system, leaders aren’t alone in trying to create sustainable change. The result is a movement that reshapes your organizational culture and sustains growth over time.

An Ongoing Partnership

We don’t offer quick fixes or new checklists. We create experiences that fundamentally change how individuals see themselves and relate to each other. We stand beside educational leaders as they shift from a paradigm of compliance to one of motivated transformative change.

We believe that when leadership is cultivated at every level — real, brave, and human —  institutions don’t just transform from the inside out. They ignite a movement that grows stronger with every voice in the system.
